I Chased Love Like It Was a Loyalty Program

Stop Chasing, Start Recognizing Stop me if this sounds familiar: you do everything right, try to be perfect, and somehow… nothing changes. Yeah, that was my childhood. I thought love worked like a loyalty program. Follow the rules, collect enough points, don’t mess up too badly, and eventually, you unlock the reward. Except the reward was supposed to be something simple: love without constantly qualifying for it. Reading the Room Like a Pro Some kids grew up learning hobbies or sports. I grew up learning how to detect emotional earthquakes. Tone changes slightly? I notice. Room goes quiet? I notice. Someone looks annoyed for half a second? Definitely notice. My brain went into overdrive: what did I do now? So I adapted. I apologized before I knew why. Explained myself like I was in court. And became suspiciously patient because, obviously, patience fixes everything. Spoiler: it doesn’t. Try Harder My main strategy was simple: try harder. Always. Argument happened? Clove Thoughts — Where Emotions Find Their Voice

Welcome to Clove Thoughts.

The name "Clove", which I write under, is inspired by the spice itself - valued for its strength, warmth, and gentle healing properties. In a similar way, the words shared here are meant to leave an emotional imprint. They come from a place of depth and honesty, with the hope that something within them resonates and stays with you.

This blog is a space where I express truths that are often left unspoken. Through personal reflections, emotional storytelling, and real-life experiences, I try to capture the silent weight of things we usually carry alone. Each piece is written with honesty and clarity, drawn directly from lived moments.

Everything shared comes from a place of quiet truth. If even one piece helps you feel understood or seen in your own experience, then this space has served its purpose.

Thank you for being here.

- Clove
